Rio Platano and Copan Ruins
18 April to 4 May 2004
Observers: Chuck Trost, Ph.D.
Chuck Trost, professor emeritus from Idaho State University, and a group of friends from Idaho visited the Río Plátano Biosphere Reserve in the spring of 2004. One of the best birds they saw was the Zone-tailed Hawk; this species is rarely reported for Honduras, and all previous records have been from the months of November to January.
